Central Statutory Delivery Team

EHC Assessment

We manage the assessments for education, health, and care needs in line with the 20 week statutory process.

What We Do:

  • We help families and schools by collecting information for new referrals.
  • We also run the SEND inclusion forum. This forum includes members from SEND services, health, schools, and other settings. It helps us make clear decisions about assessments, funding, and where children will go to school.
  • After the meeting, we tell families and schools what decisions were made.
  • We work with professionals across education, health and care to keep the assessment process going.
  • We work with families to draft Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plan.
  • We talk with schools about any funding or support needed for the child.

EHCP Review

We manage the review process for children and young people who have an Education, Health, and Care plan.

What We Do:

  • We oversee the process of reviewing an EHC plan annually. Most annual reviews are led by the school but in special circumstances, this team may attend.
  • We manage the process of requests to change school for children with an EHC plan.
  • We amend plans following reviews if needed.

Tribunals and Mediation

We manage processes relating to tribunal and mediation if parents do not agree with Local Authority decisions.

What We Do:

  • We work with families throughout these processes to seek resolution.
