We work with children and families with an EHCP that are new to Milton Keynes or are not attending school full time.
What we do:
- We work from outcomes set on the EHCP focusing on the child/young person’s primary learning needs, working towards enabling the child/ young person to be ready for their next stage of education, whether that be transitioning into a main stream setting or specialist provision.
- For children and young people who are awaiting a school place, we deliver direct sessions with the child/young person and also will liaise with a range of educational providers, organising a range of learning based activities.
- We prepare individuals to transition into their next educational provision. When a suitable setting is identified the team continue their work with individuals, through offering transitional support for the child/ young person as they settle into their new setting.
- We offer a consultation model for schools, direct work or joint working with staff additional strategies and ideas to enable a well-balanced curriculum tailored to the child/ young person’s needs.
- We support schools and families at their annual review advising on appropriate outcomes and strategies to achieve the outcomes set.
The first point of call when requesting involvement from the EHCP Delivery Team is to contact us via email: EHCP@milton-keynes.gov.uk.
