This one-day course will give you confidence to use Signalong signs to develop language and communication skills: supporting children and young people to use signing effectively.

These are quiet hours tailored to support visitors with neurodiversity, inclusive of communication or sensory needs. Ear defenders and sensory aids are available, the hand dryers in the toilets are switched off, and tickets are limited to reduce the number of people in the galleries.

A specialist play and communication group for children aged 0 - 5 years with a Vision Impairment and a support network for their parents and carers.



An opportunity to speak to teachers of Vision Impairment and Curriculum Access Specialists form the Sensory Team and other professionals.



The groups run once a month at Saplings Centre and Sensory Suite Oldbrook, upcoming sessions:

Precision Monitoring is an intervention approach based on the Learning Hierarchy (Haring and Eaton, 1978). Precision monitoring involves a simple structured approach for learning new skills beyond initial acquisition. The aim is for a skill being learnt, such as spelling or number bonds, to become fluent, maintained overtime and both generalizable and adaptable.

We turn the music right down if needed, and there are plenty of instructors to help. We also restrict numbers in the session to 14.

Emily's Star Annual Easter Egg Hunt is back. Hunt around the Secret Garden looking for letters to guess the hidden word. All children will receive a prize of either an Easter Egg or non-chocolate alternative. Tickets are priced at £4.50 (+BF) for children - adults are FREE and do not need a ticket.

Our special needs evenings were introduced in 2009 after customer comments on how best some of our users might access our activities. Started as a pilot scheme in Milton Keynes for local families with children and adults with special needs, this not for profit event quickly became a regular fixture in the local calendar. Brothers, sisters and friends are all welcome to join in the fun after hours with the freedom and comfort of knowing that the time is suited to them.

A fun-filled sensory experience for you and your little ones! Our Trickster Figures exhibition will be brought to life by our sensory tour guide Julia Collar, who will ignite the galleries with music, story-telling, object handling and play.

Join one of our award winning Sensory Tours, and experience a unique sensory exploration of the exhibition Trickster Figures: Sculpture and the Body! This event is designed specifically for individuals of all ages with additional and complex needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), and their families. Makaton is used throughout.

MK Art Gallery are doing a special arts workshop as well as the inflatable slide and bouncy castle. There will also be trikes and bikes to play on outside.
